There was a clearance issue by Archaeological Survey of India for shooting at Ahmedabad at the ancient mosque and tomb complex, Sarkhej Roza. In March 2016, a legal notice was sent by an alleged gangster, Abdul Latif's son, Mustak, asking how or why a film on his father's life is being made.[29] A few days after the 2016 Uri terror attack, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) banned films featuring Pakistani actors on the basis that the actors were not openly condemning terrorism.Raees was on their list, because cast member Mahira Khan is Pakistani. MNS put forward a condition to lift up the ban, that producers shall never cast Pakistani artistes in future and they have to give ₹5 crore as penance to the Indian Army welfare fund, but Indian Army refused to accept it by saying sacrifices should not be politicise[Later, ban was lifted without the conditions on Raees as demanded by MNS.Farhan Akhtar, co-producer of the film said Raees will never pay, and was threatened by MNS. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra and member of the BJP and the RSS, Devendra Fadnavis said at the meeting with MNS and the producers ₹5 crore as contribution to the Indian Army welfare fund was not quoted compulsory and was never a condition for lifting ban on films featuring Pakistani actors demanded by MNS, and earlier at an event praised Shah Rukh Khan as an "icon" and a "proud Mumbaikar".[38] Ankita Shorey was the first choice for the female lead of the film, but Mahira Khan got the role, Shorey confirmed that the consideration was not due to the nationality, the script needed a real Pakistani look.[39] Shorey later stated that she did not speak about replacement, and did not spell part of the project phrase in her last interview regarding Raees, the actual phrase was "strongly considered for the project", the journalist who took her interview apologised for it.[40] Farhan Akhtar clearly stated that Mahira Khan is in the film like before and nothing has been changed for her part, and the film is ready to release, he further said that if they started the whole film shooting after the terror attack then they would never have signed her depending on the present situation, and concluded by saying showing solidarity to Indian Army is up to them, and only Indian government has the authority to brief them regarding dealing with their conscience, and not by any outsiders.After the controversy of the film by coinciding the release with Kaabil, the film dives into another controversy. A day after the release of the trailer of the film, members of the city's Shia community protested the use of religious symbols in the film. They lodge a police report. The letter to the police has requested Khan to withdraw all such scenes, and intimated them about a possible peaceful protest in case the request is not met. When contacted, Shilpa Handa from the film's PR agency Spice said that they were still trying to understand the nature of the complaints. On 11 December 2016, Shah Rukh Khan met MNS supreme Raj Thackeray to assure him that Mahira Khan won't be coming to India to promote the film.[43] On 11 January 2017, it was reported that Shiv Sena again demanded for ban on the movie. They have threatened the cinemas' owners in Chhattisgarh not to screen the film. Three days before the release of the film, Kailash Vijayvargiya, National General Secretary of BJP, termed Raees as "dishonest" and "anti-national" film, while termed Kaabil as "Patriotic" film, and said earlier in 2015 that Shah Rukh Khan is a defector and he also didn't react to 1993 Bombay bombings and 2008 Mumbai attacks.

Jagruthi Foundation was founded by a royal dynasty in Ananthapur, having thousands of acres of land, maintaining so many schools, colleges, hospitals, orphanages, old age homes, and many other social service activities, which was taken care by its trustee Narayana Rao (Sai Kumar). Vikram Sarkar (Kabir Duhan Singh) a powerful mafia don wants to grab the entire foundation showing a loophole that it does not have original documents. Narayana Rao files a case in the court that he will produce the documents along with the original heir within 1 month time. Narayana Rao and Sarkar both are in search of an original heir, Sarkar appoints a professional goon Beeku (Ravi Kishan) to kill them. Finally, they find them in the United Kingdom, Raja Rao (Sijju) the third generation of the royal dynasty has the documents, he is ready to give back documents to trust people but unfortunately he dies in a road accident and the documents are missing. Meanwhile, Balu (Sai Dharam Tej) is an aggressive taxi driver at Hyderabad gets irritated if someone sounds the horn to his cab and makes their life miserable, he falls in love with an incompetent local Sub-Inspector Bellam Sridevi (Raasi Khanna). Once he finds an Anglo-Indian orphan kid (Mikhail Gandhi) in his car trunk, he names him as Rajan and takes care of him along with his father (Rajendra Prasad), three of them gets emotionally attached to each other and becomes one family. The twist in the tale arises when the young boy is suddenly kidnapped by Beeku and taken to Orrisa. Balu and his father comes to know from Narayana Rao that Rajan is none other than the son of Raja Rao the last heir of the foundation holding the original documents and his parents are brutally killed by Sarkar. Rest of the story is whether Balu can protect Rajan and produce him before the court on time along with the documents.

Kajal mistakes him as an inspector and thanks him for helping her catch the goons, while Vishwas plays along. He is mistakenly published in the newspaper as an Inspector, which Savitri sees. OK Jaanu (English: OK Darling) is a 2017 Indian romantic drama film directed by Shaad Ali, story and screenplay by Mani Ratnam. Produced by Mani Ratnam and Karan Johar under their banners Madras Talkies and Dharma Productions respectively. It is an official remake of Mani Ratnam's Tamil film O Kadhal Kanmani starring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen. The film stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles, portraying a young couple in a live-in relationship in Mumbai with Naseeruddin Shah and Leela Samson play supporting roles as an older couple in the film, portraying the younger couple's landlords. A. R. Rahman composed the film's score and soundtrack. Gulzar is the dialogue writer of this film. Gulzar has also provided the lyrics for the songs in the film.[1][2][3] The first look was released on 29 February 2016. Principal photography commenced in March 2016.[4] The trailer of the film was released on 11 December 2016.[5] The filming has been officially wrapped up on 29 May 2016,[6] with actress Shraddha Kapoor sharing a photo from the film's set. The film had a worldwide release on 13 January 2017.

Dhanraj (Pran) is a poor mill worker whose life is ruined by his boss, Hira (Ranjeet) who fires Dhanraj from his job and also is responsible for his sister's death. Dhanraj along with his family is left destitute and is on the verge of starvation but luck strikes when Dhanraj crosses paths with a orphan boy, Amar having a winning lottery ticket. Dhanraj becomes very rich and he adopts Amar who has become his good-luck charm. Years later, all of Dhanraj's children, Renu, Vishwas, and Kishan have grown up along with Amar, who is now a police inspector. Amar falls in love with a small time thief, Geeta (Juhi Chawla) and marries her while Kishan is in love with the daughter of Dhanraj's sworn enemy Hira. Things don't go well in Dhanraj household, as the elder son Vishwas under the influence of his greedy wife starts to embezzle wealth. Then Vishwas' wife blames Amar of assaulting her, forcing Amar and Geeta to leave the house. With Amar out of the house, Dhanraj feels vulnerable and open to attacks. But things start to spiral out of control Dhanraj is arrested for marketing suprious drugs and the arresting officer is none other than Inspector Amar. Can Dhanraj and his family survive the test of time and unite to fight the harsh realities in their life?

This film is about the lives and travails of people living around a fictitious traffic signal in Mumbai. Anybody who drives in Mumbai has experienced the 2-odd minute wait at a traffic signal. The traffic signal includes a microcosm of people who derive their daily livelihoods from it. There are beggars (kids and adults), prostitutes, tricksters, eunuchs and others who sell clothes, flowers and trinkets. They speak quickly, act fast and operate somewhat honourably (with each other) to eke a meager living out of the harsh Mumbai street life. They owe allegiance and hafta (weekly "protection" fee) to the signal manager, Silsila (Kunal Khemu). Silsila grew up at the signal. He ran various trades there before he became the manager. He is an ideal manager: sensitive and caring of his workers yet ruthless when it comes to delivery. Silsila reports into a mid-level don, Jaffar, who in turn reports to the big boss Haji bhaijaan. Life is well at the signal. A gentle girl, Rani (Neetu Chandra), arrives at the signal to sell ethnic clothes. The initial fireworks blossom into deeper companionship with Silsila. Everything proceeds normally. Unbeknownst to Silsila, Haji bhaijaan is part of a larger nexus of evil that comprises politicians and the larger Mafia. Haji must play a dangerous game where he is forced to invoke the unwitting pawn, Silsila, to start a series of events that could ultimately destroy the traffic signal. Silsila is unaware of the larger consequences as he carries out his orders without question. But reality dawns on him when he is apprehended in a case of murder, extortion and bribery where he was hardly aware of things. The signal faces destruction. Silsila's world, and all the people who grew up with it, face extinction. Silsila is forced to make a choice between his life and his world. As his life moves from Green to Red, he may only hope that the signal moves from Red to Green.
