The story of film is set in ravines of river Chambal valley. It tells the tale of dacoits in 1975, who termed themselves Baaghis, the rebels. Lacchu gives information to Baaghis that a dowry of tons of gold and cash will be given to the bride by her father so dacoit Man Singh (Manoj Bajpayee) alias 'Dadda' should raid. Special Task Force (STF) headed by Inspector Virendra Singh Gujjar (Ashutosh Rana) attacks them during the loot in which Dadda gets killed. This leads to a split between gang. Lakhna (Sushant Singh Rajput) wants to surrender to police while Vakil Singh (Ranvir Shorey) wants to follow baaghi's dharm (way of life) of rebellion. On run they meet Thakur's wife Indumati Tomar (Bhumi Pednekar) with a girl named Khushi whom Indumati's family head had raped. Indumati had killed him to save Khushi and ran away to rescue her and take her to hospital. Indumati's whole family is chasing her to get her killed. She pleads Baaghis to help her take Khushi to hospital. Baaghis agree. Indumati's family arrives and tries to take away Khushi with them. While Vakil Singh agrees to let her go, Lakhna revolts and disagrees. In this melee, Indumati's own child fires a bullet on Vakil's brother and kills him by accident. Lakhna and team along with Indumati and Khushi escape and Vakil Singh vows to chase them and kill. It is revealed that Maan Singh looted dowry house to save Lacchu's father from inspector Gujjar knowing very well that it was a trap to kill them. Gujjar had taken him hostage and promised to free only if Lacchu brings Baaghis to that village for the police to kill all Baaghis at once and get reward from the government. Midway to hospital, Lakhna tells Indumati a background story about a curse of killing innocent children inside a room by mistake led Baaghis' whole group being killed turn by turn. And that they need to find Sonchiriya (a metaphor for a 'Saviour Girl') to get rid of the curse. Baaghis meet Phuilya dacoit and she joins Lakhna to save the bleeding girl and take them to Dholpur Hospital. They are joined again by Vakil Singh and gang in the task. Vakil says "to ward off the curse we need to save this girl from death, it is a chance to repent. This girl Khushi is "our Sonchiraiya, our saviour".Indumati son's want to kill her mother but Lakhna confronts and tell the truth that his grandfather was a bad person and father not grandfather. Lakhna and Indumati makes to hospital. In the last scene, while the girl is being hospitalized, Lakhna who, being chased by Gujjar, was hiding behind the tree comes out to surrender as his task of saving Sonchiriya was finished. But by the curse, Lakhna is shot dead by Gujjar. In the aftermath, it is revealed that Vakil Singh has been killed by the police at the railway station, as his corpse is loaded in a tractor. Later, while traveling towards police station after killing Lakhna, Gujjar is shot and killed by one of his constable who was earlier assaulted and insulted by him.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story cast: Sushant Singh Rajput, Anupam Kher, Rajesh Sharma, Bhumika Chawla, Kumud Mishra, Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Harry Tangri MS Dhoni The Untold Story director: Neeraj Pandey To create a true, full-blooded biopic, filmmakers need a free-hand: MS Dhoni The Untold Story, which claims to give us Mahendra Singh Dhoni Uncut, is much more generous with details from his childhood and his days of struggle than from his blazing tenure as star wicketkeeper-batsman-captain of the Indian cricket team. The result, with the exception of a few interesting bits and pieces, is bland and predictable. The over-long film cherry-picks the details it wants to serve us, skirting all grey areas and controversies: there are no smart nose-digs, only ingratiating bouquets; only hurrahs (the critique is so muted that we can barely hear it), and loud background music which is used to drum up emotion and drama.

It begins with promise. Young Mahi is more interested in football, badminton and tennis, and tries to blow off his first coach (Rajesh Sharma) who spots his potential. The entire ‘bachpan’-adolescence section, featuring the father (Anupam Kher) who thinks a job will take his son much further than sports, the mother who believes in her son, the sister (Bhumika Chawla) who is a solid support to him, his bunch of loyal friends who just know he can do it, has been crafted with heart and feels authentic. We see Mahi (Sushant Singh Rajput) trying and failing and trying again, despite all the roadblocks, to keep his eye on his goal: to be part of the Indian team and play for his country, and we root for him.

Till then, bully for Neeraj Pandey and the film, even if it is already feeling stretched and repetitive. What works for the film in the first half is the lifelike re-creation of life in a small town (Ranchi), a family getting by on slender means and yet being able to find it in themselves to get behind a bright-eyed lad who dreams big, and is willing to work for it. In the way it shows Mahi’s often herculean attempts to become visible to the powers that be (he can smash the ball all across the ground effortlessly, and wicket-keep beautifully too), the film becomes almost copybook in telling us that strokes may come easy but getting invited into privileged sporting enclaves is exceedingly tough. But, and this is the message that comes through loud and clear, that it can be done. You can be a small town boy, and if you have talent and a little bit of luck, you can be unstoppable. Up till here, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s story, the mostly untold part for most of us, holds us. It tells us that it is right for us to aspire, and that anyone can do it. Then the curse of the second half strikes, and it goes into an irreversible slide. Two romances arrive in swift succession (Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, both sparkly, both reduced to sidebars). There are songs. There is a stab at the intrigue that governs selection processes at various cricketing bodies, including the mighty BCCI, but it is laughably feeble. The entire focus is on Dhoni who is shown as the sole match-winner from the Indian side. His teammates, which include Indian cricketing greats (Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and others), are seen in flashes, either from the back or in profile. There is no dressing room banter with his team-mates. No scenes, in fact, with other players, except for a couple of stray ones with Yuvraj Singh (Harry Tangri).

When the shoot of the film was going on in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi, an FIR was lodged against makers of the film for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in October 2013. The objection was regarding a scene in the film where a man dressed as the Hindu deity, Lord Shiva pulls the rickshaw with two burqa clad women as passengers.The first poster came out on 31 July 2014.A motion poster was also released on the same day on YouTube. The poster sparked a controversy as it featured Aamir Khan posing almost nude with only a transistor covering his private parts. The poster was criticized for allegedly promoting obscenity. A PIL was filed in the court by the All India Human Rights and Social Justice Front to ban the release of the film. The Supreme Court dismissed the plea and gave the movie a green signal. There were also allegations on the poster being copied. It had similarities with the poster of a Portuguese musician named Quim Barreiros, which was released in 1973.The second poster of was launched on 20 August 2014 at an event in Mumbai.This poster was also released in the form of motion poster on YouTube. The new poster featured Aamir Khan wearing traditional Rajasthani attire, also sporting dark glasses and holding onto a brass tenor. The promotional strategy for the movie was revealed by the makers at the launch of the second poster.

Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh star as the three main protagonists while Amrita Puri plays the female lead.The film title Kai Po Che! is originally a Gujarati phrase that means "I have cut the kite" which refers to Makar Sankranti (known as Uttarayan in Gujarat) where one of the competitors uses his kite to cut off another competitors kite and yells "Kai Po Che!"The shooting started mid-April in Vadnagar and Ahmedabad. Set in Ahmedabad, the story revolves around three friends, Ishaan (Sushant Singh Rajput), Omi (Amit Sadh) and Govind (Rajkummar Rao), who want to start their own sports shop and sports academy. The film tracks their deep friendship, and innocence tarnished by religious politics and communal hatred, which results in their fallout, and an eventual death. Kai Po Che! had a world premiere at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival on 13 February 2013 where it was the first ever Indian film to feature in the World Panorama section.Kai Po Che! released world wide on 22 February 2013 and met with critical acclaim among Indian reviewers, but negative reviews internationally.

Ishaan "Ish" Bhatt (Sushant Singh Rajput) is an ex district level cricketer who is a victim of politics in the cricketing selection fraternity, Omkar "Omi" Shastri (Amit Sadh) is the nephew of a Hindu politician (Bittu) who funds their business and Govind "Govi" Patel (Rajkumar Rao) is a geek who is the mastermind behind starting a sports shop which also doubles as a sports academy.

Together they open a sports shop and an academy to train and promote talented budding cricketers. After toiling hard, they succeed in establishing it as a center for cricket among the local youth and start to incur profits. Ishaan requests Govind to teach his sister Vidya (Amrita Puri) mathematics as her exams are coming up. Govind is reluctant at first but agrees eventually. Vidya and Govind gradually fall in love with each other and secretly enter a relationship unknowingly. Omi discovers the same and warns Govind of the consequences, as Ishaan is very protective of his sister. The three friends spot a budding cricketing talent in a local boy, Ali (Digvijay Deshmukh),who has a rare talent, and Ishaan starts training him vigorously. Govind is ambitious and wants to expand the budding business by opening a shop in a mall being constructed in Navrangpura, an upcoming part of the city. With financial help coming from Omi's maternal uncle, Bittu (Manav Kaul), the trio secure the deal and set up shop in the mall. But the trouble comes when a destructive earthquake hits Gujarat and Govind's shop in the mall is destroyed. Govind is shattered as the amount of money he invested was very large and he is now loaded with a huge debt. Omi is reluctantly forced to work for his maternal Uncle's right-wing party due to the money they owe him. When relief camps of Omi' uncles' party declines to give Muslims shelter in troubled times, Ishaan and Omi quarrel over their politico-religious outlook and temporarily break off their friendship. They again reunite after India's surprise win in the test match against Australia. Omi gets busy with religious politics and joins Bittu's party. Ishaan and Govind, meanwhile, are busy with Ali and Vidya respectively. Tension arises in the political sphere when Bittu loses the elections in his constituency to his opponent (Asif Basra) belonging to the secular party. As a part of their campaigning, Bittu sends pilgrims (kar sevaks) to Ayodhya to the Ram Temple. Omi's parents were also among them. On the returning day, the shocking news of the Godhra train massacre reaches the people. Omi is shattered but Bittu convinces him to take revenge on the murderers of his parents. Ishaan and Govind hide Ali in Ali's house, afraid of the communal riots which were about to start. As expected, the violence starts by sunset, and the mob led by Bittu storms into the Muslim locality, killing each and every Muslim in sight. A fight ensues between Ali's father and Bittu. Ali's father stabs Bittu in defense and rushes to save Ali and take shelter in their attic. Omi, enraged at the death of his uncle Bittu, follows him with a gun. Meanwhile, Ishaan comes to know about Vidya and Govind's relationship, when he reads Vidya's text message in Govind's mobile phone about her periods. Enraged, he starts thrashing Govind while Omi enters the premises with a gun in hand, desperate to find and kill Ali and his father. Ishaan and Govind break their own fighting and try to stop Omi as he desperately searches for Ali and his father. Omi finally aims and shoots at Ali. Ishaan in a bid to save Ali takes the bullet himself and consequently dies. The film then goes back to where it started, with Omi being released from jail ten years later. Govind and Vidya are married and have a son, whom they have named Ishaan (Ishaan Bhagat, Chetan Bhagat's son) after the late Ishaan. The film ends with a now grown up Ali debuting for the Indian cricket team against Australia. He plays his first shot by hitting the ball to the boundary with a Cover drive just like his "Ishaan bhaiya" had taught him.
