To save his job, the 27-year-old salesman Rajiv (Varun Sharma) has to sell a water purifier by Friday. Manchanda (Sanjay Mishra), the crazy, quirky guru of crash courses in sales, gives him a lead of a possible customer. Rajiv thus heads for the house of the popular theatre actor Gagan Kapoor (Govinda), who is actually a loving husband but at the age of 40, a man with a series of extra-marital affairs.

And on that Friday, as Gagan gets naughty with his current girlfriend Bindu, in enters Rajiv who refuses to get out because he has to, has to install that damn purifier. Gagan wants him OUT because his wife is expected anytime soon. Rajiv uses the tips from Manchanda to indulge into extra-sweet-sugar-talk with Gagan and Bindu, and when Gagan's wife enters, and then later Bindu's eccentric cop husband, Rajiv finds himself in varied relationships with each person, just to install that Pavitra-Pani-Purifier, while Gagan pleads with him to keep his dalliances a secret. What plays out is a hysterical comedy on that Friday that is no less than a FRY-DAY.

FryDay is a 2018 Indian comedy film directed by Abhishek Dogra. It is produced by Sajid Qureshi and PVR Pictures and stars Govinda, Varun Sharma and Digangana Suryavanshi in lead roles. The film was scheduled to release on 11 May 2018.[2] It was released on 12 October 2018

Abhay Deol drives a big nail into the coffin that his career is beginning to resemble with the comedy Nanu Ki Jaanu. Deol’s low-fi charisma and acting talent have left the screen for unknown pastures, and he occasionally surfaces when it suits him (Happy Bhag Jayegi in 2016, for instance). What could have persuaded him to sign up for Faraz Haider’s Nanu Ki Jaanu? The fact that it is a remake of Myshkin’s critically appreciated Tamil movie Pisaasu (2014)? The prospect of being in nearly every sequence? The reunion with Manu Rishi Chadha, who wrote the dialogue for Deol’s best movie, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! (2008)? The pay cheque was hopefully worth the effort.

Deol’s Nanu leads a gang of criminals who occupy apartments in Noida under the pretext of renting them. On the way to one such assignment, Nanu sees a woman lying at the edge of the road, bleeding to death. Despite his best efforts, Nanu is unable to save Siddhi (Patralekha). Leaving her body with her grieving father (Rajesh Sharma), Nanu returns to work, but his heart is not in it any more. He has developed previously unknown feelings towards his victims. Why are you behaving like a woman, his partner (Manu Rishi Chadha) tells him.

Meanwhile, Siddhi’s ghost sets up residence in Nanu’s apartment – in the chimney, to be precise. A ghostbuster proves to be useless. A few fake scares ensue before Nanu realises that Siddhi is hanging around in order to identify the person who was responsible for her death. Who could it be, and more importantly, should we care?

Suspense is thin in a movie with three major characters. The staggering incompetence on display ensures that the events are neither funny nor frightening, and the sight of Nanu romancing Siddhi’s ghost pushes Nanu Ki Jaanu towards the zone of tragedy for Abhay Deol’s fanbase.

Manga (Kapil Sharma) is an uneducated and jobless young man who dreams of joining the Police Force but fails at every attempt made to do so. During a visit to the village Naku Guda for his friend Heera's (Inaamulhaq) wedding, Manga comes across Sargi (Ishita Dutta) and falls in love with her, but because of being jobless Manga is unable to take forward his relationship with Sargi. Manga was born with a unique ability that he could cure anyone's backache with a simple kick to their backside. One day he manages to cure Mark Daniel (Edward Sonnenblick) of his backache using the same ability of his. Impressed by this act of Manga, Mark offers him a job in the Police Force, which Manga happily accepts. Manga is now convinced that since he has a job now, Sargi's family won't object to his marriage with her and so he approaches Sargi's grandfather Lalaji (Aanjjan Srivastav) with regards to this. But Lalaji, who is a follower of Mahatma Gandhi refuses the proposal because Manga is working for the Britishers, the very same people from whom the people of the country are fighting to get their independence from.

MS Dhoni The Untold Story cast: Sushant Singh Rajput, Anupam Kher, Rajesh Sharma, Bhumika Chawla, Kumud Mishra, Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, Harry Tangri MS Dhoni The Untold Story director: Neeraj Pandey To create a true, full-blooded biopic, filmmakers need a free-hand: MS Dhoni The Untold Story, which claims to give us Mahendra Singh Dhoni Uncut, is much more generous with details from his childhood and his days of struggle than from his blazing tenure as star wicketkeeper-batsman-captain of the Indian cricket team. The result, with the exception of a few interesting bits and pieces, is bland and predictable. The over-long film cherry-picks the details it wants to serve us, skirting all grey areas and controversies: there are no smart nose-digs, only ingratiating bouquets; only hurrahs (the critique is so muted that we can barely hear it), and loud background music which is used to drum up emotion and drama.

It begins with promise. Young Mahi is more interested in football, badminton and tennis, and tries to blow off his first coach (Rajesh Sharma) who spots his potential. The entire ‘bachpan’-adolescence section, featuring the father (Anupam Kher) who thinks a job will take his son much further than sports, the mother who believes in her son, the sister (Bhumika Chawla) who is a solid support to him, his bunch of loyal friends who just know he can do it, has been crafted with heart and feels authentic. We see Mahi (Sushant Singh Rajput) trying and failing and trying again, despite all the roadblocks, to keep his eye on his goal: to be part of the Indian team and play for his country, and we root for him.

Till then, bully for Neeraj Pandey and the film, even if it is already feeling stretched and repetitive. What works for the film in the first half is the lifelike re-creation of life in a small town (Ranchi), a family getting by on slender means and yet being able to find it in themselves to get behind a bright-eyed lad who dreams big, and is willing to work for it. In the way it shows Mahi’s often herculean attempts to become visible to the powers that be (he can smash the ball all across the ground effortlessly, and wicket-keep beautifully too), the film becomes almost copybook in telling us that strokes may come easy but getting invited into privileged sporting enclaves is exceedingly tough. But, and this is the message that comes through loud and clear, that it can be done. You can be a small town boy, and if you have talent and a little bit of luck, you can be unstoppable. Up till here, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s story, the mostly untold part for most of us, holds us. It tells us that it is right for us to aspire, and that anyone can do it. Then the curse of the second half strikes, and it goes into an irreversible slide. Two romances arrive in swift succession (Disha Patani, Kiara Advani, both sparkly, both reduced to sidebars). There are songs. There is a stab at the intrigue that governs selection processes at various cricketing bodies, including the mighty BCCI, but it is laughably feeble. The entire focus is on Dhoni who is shown as the sole match-winner from the Indian side. His teammates, which include Indian cricketing greats (Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and others), are seen in flashes, either from the back or in profile. There is no dressing room banter with his team-mates. No scenes, in fact, with other players, except for a couple of stray ones with Yuvraj Singh (Harry Tangri).
