But Johar is unable to go the extra mile it in the other department, leaving you wanting both more and less: less of the incessant yak-yak (you want to tell these impeccably-styled people to stop and draw breath and then speak, so that they, and we, can absorb the moment they’ve created), less of the non-stop background music (if it is real, you don’t have to underline it), less of the frantic reaching for the next old Bollywood classic line or song (because too many of these, and ‘Ae Dil’ is stuffed with these references, makes your brand new film feel same old); and more silence (the most effective parts of the film happen when it’s quiet), and more fresh plot points. Ayan is ‘private-jet’ rich but wants to be a singer, the out-going Alizeh loves Ali, and the happily divorced Saba is looking for love. The most flavoursome relationship dramas, where characters pair up, leave, and return, are a compendium of sighs and tears and moments where you want the lovers to fall into each other’s arms because you can’t bear to see them apart. But I didn’t get there in ‘Ae Dil’. Or at least in not more than a couple of places. That’s because of a lack in focus: this he falls in love with her-she loves another-he falls in lust with another-she teaches him how like is better than love is all over the place and stretched at ends, the intervening bits filled with songs (club, shaadi, even a ‘break-up’ ditty) and dialogue (yes, not lines, but dialogues, in the old-fashioned way: why, when your characters inhabit the here and now?). Sure, they play ‘shayars’ and singers, but their delivery makes a lot of those conversations feel forced and cheesy. Rai Bachchan is eye-catching as the older, experienced woman but I wish she was given more time to channel hurt. Poor Fawad Khan, over whom so much controversy broke out, is dishy but doesn’t really have much to do. Lisa Haydon comes on in a walk-on part as a ditsy girl and is a hoot. But the one who lifts this film, or as much as he can, is Ranbir. As the fellow who crumbles and cries and shoves his aching heart on his sleeve even when letting a pretty thing wipe his eyes, he is terrific. There’s a nice bro-moment between Fawad and Ranbir when the film sparks to life. And you wonder if this pair shared more screen space, would the se ‘dils’ have been in a little less ‘mushkil’ ? I’m going to think more on that, and listen to some weepy old songs, and hope that Johar will come up with something newer and sharper the next time around.

On 31st October 1984, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her Sikh bodyguards. The act ignited instant hatred towards members of the Sikh community. Thousands of Sikhs lost their lives. Some Hindus helped their Sikh brothers, while others butchered them. These aren’t just facts strung together. They also happen to be the paper-thin plot of 31st October. Devinder (Vir Das), Tejinder (Soha Ali Khan) and their three children lock themselves in their house as the city of New Delhi burns outside. Their friends from the other side of town struggle to dodge the rioters and get to them. A story as simple as that has been embellished with a dozen unnecessary characters (each one's death adding to the runtime), lessons on the Sikh community, Sonu Nigam singing over slo-mo riot scenes and a B-story of blossoming love, that is altogether forgotten 15 minutes into the movie. Entirely too much time is spent on the set-up, the first half is dialogue-heavy but characters seem to ramble and the sound is terrible. When actors speak, you feel them dubbing the lines right there, next to you. Producer-writer Harry Sachdeva's heart must have been in the right place, but a lot else wasn’t. In parts, the movie ends up looking like a dramatic reenactment of riots from a crime show. Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das try to be sincere but don’t have much to do. Das’s Devinder practically spends the whole second half sitting, sleeping, huffing and puffing to combat his low blood pressure. To its credit, the movie is only 102 minutes long, and you can see a sense of honesty in it. But the final product is underwhelming and looks like a small-scale remake of the Hollywood film franchise, The Purge (innocent people running scared on the streets, dodging murderous mobs).

The film revolves around Madhavan Nair (Nedumudi Venu) who unknowingly kills a teenager and his eldest son, Raja, takes the blame and is sentenced to jail for five years. After returning from jail, his father refuses to accept him still with no knowledge that his son was innocent,and so Raja moves to Madurai and there he rescues the life of the son of Maniannan(Charan Raj), the village land lord and then Raja turns his right hand and he is named as Madurai Raja. Years later, he started being known as Pokkiri Raja (Mammootty). Meanwhile Surya (Pritviraj), the younger son of Madhavan Nair, is a young energetic and educated naughty guy who is well famous for his rowdisim in his village. He is sent to Ernakulam to his brother-in-law Sugunan (Suraj Venjaramoodu) to change his character, who is a scary cat. At Ernakulam, Surya falls in love with Aswathy (Shriya Saran) unknowing that she is the daughter of the City Police Commissioner (Siddique). Sugunan takes advantage of Surya's character and sends him in his uniform to take care of some severe police cases. Surya gets arrested for this offence. The commissioner finds that Surya is in love with his daughter and charges Surya with another drugs case and makes it a non bailable offence. Meanwhile the commissioner plans to murder Surya in jail and gives the contract to Pokkiri Raja. At this point, Madhavan Nair goes to Madurai in search of his elder son who left for Madurai 10 years back and asks for his help to rescue his younger son Surya.

Beiimaan Love movie cast: Sunny Leone, Rajneesh Duggal, Daniel Webber Beiimaan Love movie director: Rajeev Chaudhari Beiimaan Love could easily have been called ‘Bematlab Thakaan’: I am exhausted, for no reason other than that I chose to get back to a Sunny Leone film in the hope that she will reveal something other than sculpted body parts which move and stop, move and stop. Both Ek Paheli Leela and One Night Stand, where Sunny had large speaking parts, were meant to showcase her acting talents. Both failed. Beiimaan Love is not even respectable B grade. It is as C grade as it can get.For the record, Sunny plays a good girl turned vengeful business woman, striking back at the fellow (Rajniesh Duggal) who’s wronged her. Except, as usual, the film is more interested in her glossy pelt than plot.We’ve seen most of it before. Sunny kitted out in skin-tight clothes, flashing lots of bare chest and legs. Sunny shaking and shimmying. And her laboured yet earnest attempts at emoting. But Beiimaan Love junks all pretence and goes straight for the kill. Within a minute of her coming on, we hear, ‘she’s hot’, ‘she’s smoking hot’. This is repeated just in case we forget. Someone, a song informs us, wants to love her, touch her. The camera slithers all over, pausing strategically, from killer stilletoes to cupid bow lips and everything in between.As if this was not bad enough, Beiimaan Love bungs in walk-on parts which are jaw-droppingly awful, and downright offensive: just when you think things can’t get worse, out pops a pneumatically inflated female and sits on a middle-aged man’s lap, and calls him Daddy. A middle-aged woman gets called a ‘bar-dancer’ and a ‘sex-worker’ in the same breath.Sunny’s real-life spouse Daniel Weber has a bit part, and this priceless line: ‘you are an uncut diamond; only I know your worth’. This is a cringe-fest from start to finish. Stay away. And wave bye bye to Sunny: when a film sinks this low, it’s hard to climb back up again.

Athili Sathi Babu (Ravi Teja) is a small-time thief and crook who is crazy about acts of daredevilry who falls in love with Neeraja (Anushka Shetty) who is in Hyderabad to attend a marriage. Sathi Babu makes his way into her heart and she also starts loving him. Sathi Babu tells her the truth about him being a thief and resolves to give up crime forever. But before that, he decides to swindle one last person for a large sum of money along with his con-friend Duvva (Brahmanandam). He tricks a woman on a railway station (Not really station, it is bus stand) and flees with a trunk. This leads Sathi Babu to Neha (Baby Neha), a young girl who was in the trunk instead of the wealth he thought was in the trunk, who thinks that satibabu is her father. Flummoxed by what is happening, but forced to keep Neha with her as a police officer Inspector Mahanti (Rajiv Kanakala) keeps his eye on him. Although he tries keeping neha away from Neeraja’s eyes, the latter finds out about Neha. Angry and hurt, Neeraja leaves for her place leaving Sathi Babu heartbroken. Soon, unknown goons attack him, taking him to be a latter named ASP Vikram Singh Rathod (also Ravi Teja), Neha’s real father. Rathod looks exactly like Sathi Babu which had caused all the confusion. While many unknown persons help Sathi Babu run to safety with Neha in his arms, he is soon surrounded by the goons. It is then that Rathod makes an appearance and saves the day killing every goon by himself. But Rathod soon dies suffering from injuries. The other policemen who had assisted the ASP then inform Sathi Babu of the whole incident. In a Chambal village Devgarh, an MLA, Bavuji used to trouble and torture people and also annex money from them. His son Munna (Amit Kumar Tiwari) used to rape the wives of policemen. Rathod immediately arrested him and also made him mentally insane. Munna humiliates police by removing their clothes but was killed by Rathod when he was hung from a tree by the belt of a humiliated inspector. Rathod was attacked by Bavuji's brother Titla on Dusshehra where he was stabbed from the back as well as shot in the head while trying to save a village child and was assumed to be dead. But he survived with a brain injury although the goons assumed that he is dead. Effects of this brain injury are later visible and these effects are diminished by water falling on his head. Sathi Babu then adopts Neha, who does not know that her father is dead. Then Sathi Babu returns to Devgarh posing as ASP Vikram Singh Rathod and heads to settle the scores with Bavuji. Duvva tells Neeraja the truth and she forgives satibabu. Sathi Babu, being a goon handles Bavuji well with tricks. He sets the MLA's wine factory on fire and makes the villagers rob his food store. A fight ensues in which he defeats all Bavuji's men alone. In the end, he fights with Titla on a rope bridge. Sathibabu ties the rope and cuts the rope and Titla fall to death. Sathibabu gets married to Neeraja and they leave for a new life with Neha and Duvva.

The story starts off in Mumbai with Chota Nayak (Kabir Duhan Singh) escaping from police custody. Once out, he looks out for his aide-turned-foe Ranganath (Brahmaji). Jai (Gopichand) is a fire officer who happens to help Ranganath, not knowing that the latter is the former right-hand man of Mumbai don, Nayak. He turns informer and runs away with the money of Nayak. Nayak suspects Jai to be an accomplice of Ranganath and starts troubling him. This brings them to Hyderabad where he meets Savitri (Rashi Khanna) and it is love at first sight for both. Just as their romance begins, Nayak traces Jai and from then on it is open war between them. Nayak threatens to kill whoever is close to Jay and he keeps his word. He kills Jai's uncle in a fire accident after which Jai kills Nayak's brother. After which, Jai send his family far away to keep them safe but Savithri, unaware of Nayak's presence, talks to him openly. Nayak then captures Savithri and threatens to kill her if Jai does not hand over the money. Jai comes to the realization as to where the money is and rifles through Ranganath's jacket where he finds a book containing the bank account and password where the money is located. Jai calls Nayak and they meet at a deserted market for the exchange but it goes wrong when a police officer tries killing Nayak and Jai saves Nayak to the dismay of the police officer. Meanwhile, Nayak gains access to the bank account and sees it be empty. All the money had been transferred to the dying Savithri's account. Nayak tries reviving Savithri in a building under construction. Jai arrives and sets fire to the building. After which there is a bloody and violent battle between Nayak and Jai.

A timeless folktale about star-crossed lovers is played out in two parallel worlds, one real, and one fantastical. As the lovers grapple with forces that seek to keep them apart in both avatars, they discover that even a moment of true love is worth an entire lifetime.“Mirzya” is one gorgeously shot movie, and the filmmakers slow down some scenes to make sure you know it. They needn’t have bothered. Most everything in this easy-to-like story is hard to miss. Based on “Mirza Sahiban,” a Punjab folk tale of star-crossed lovers, the plot centers on Soochi (Saiyami Kher, always stunning) and Adil (Harshvardhan Kapoor, always scruffy). After a terrible crime separates them in adolescence, they are thrown together and reunited years later as adults. Adil works as a stable hand, while Soochi is on the cusp of marrying a wealthy and clean-cut man, Karan (Anuj Choudhry, always slick), who just happens to be Adil’s employer. The nearer Adil and Soochi get to rekindling their old romance, the closer they come to danger. It’s no coincidence that Shakespeare is referenced in “Mirzya”; there are echoes of “Romeo and Juliet” in several scenes. There’s more than a little contrivance too, as well as an unnecessary side story that has these lovers playing out their recurring fates in a separate, fantastical time amid cheesy special effects. That strand and its frequent slow-motion sequences detract from the main plot, which moves smartly enough on its own. Still, a brutally beautiful and tragic ending, and fine performances from the three lead actors, are enough reason to watch. Sampooran Singh Kalra’s script, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s direction and Pawel Dyllus’s cinematography are unabashedly romantic, featuring long, lush shots of horseback riding, scenic vistas and desert sands. Sure, the filmmakers overdo their work. But it’s all in the service of love, and somehow that makes it O.K.

Both the actor and director seem to have forgotten that crucial fact in this multi-lingual ‘horror comedy’ (out in Tamil as Devi and Telugu as Abhinetri today, with the same faces). In far too much of the running time in Tutak Tutak Tutiya, Prabhu Deva gets only the odd dance number to show his moves, and made to ‘act’ instead. The horror is supposed to arise from the plot point which gives us another side to the servile biwi via a ‘bhoot’. Yes, a sari-wearing docile frump can turn into a modern girl in short clothes with starry ambitions in the company of Bollywood superstar Raj (Sonu Sood: when will this perfectly competent actor do something worth our while?) only under the influence of a spirit.

Abhiram (Jr. NTR), the youngest son of London-based Subramanyam (Rajendra Prasad), quits his job and starts his own company, KMC Pipes and Canals. He comes to know that his father is suffering from pancreatic cancer and has roughly a month or more to live. Subramanyam reveals his name as Ramesh Chandra Prasad, one of London's richest entrepreneurs, who lost all his wealth because of a cunning man, Krishnamurthy Kautilya, who made his empire cheating Ramesh Chandra. He was then forced to change his name to Subramanyam and got rich again after years of work. Subramanyam requests his 3 sons to take revenge on his behalf. His son, lies to him that he has filed a lawsuit against Krishnamurthy in order to pacify him. But Abhiram ends up taking matters into his own hands. He sets a time period of 30 days to bring Krishnamurthy to zero and hires three youngsters who are shown to love their fathers dearly. He targets Krishnamurthy's daughter Divyanka in order to reach him. He uses all methods necessary to woo her, including saving her from a kidnapping and spending every last penny of their family bank balance to buy her a 25 crore worth painting. He finally meets Krishnamurthy at Divya's birthday party. But Krishnamurthy turns out to be aware of Abhiram's intentions. Subramanyam gets admitted at the hospital as his condition turns critical. Abhiram's brothers break up with him after they come to know that Abhiram wasted their property on the painting. Krishnamurthy plants a bug in Abhiram's lair because of which he comes to know of their plans and Divya too comes to know of Abhiram's intentions. She breaks up with him. Krishnamurthy had grabbed a gas project from businessman Kapil Kumar in Spain, to where he goes with Divya. Abhiram follows them with his group but gets kidnapped by Divya. She does so as she wants to find his plans of ruining her father. During this period, Abhiram regains Divya's love and also gets her to meet her mother in jail whom she had not met since she was of four years and reveal her mysterious dream. Her father had put drugs in their bag during one of their travels, but the airport officials find the bag with Divya's mother when Krishnamurthy and Divya were in the washroom. Krishnamurthy leaves his wife to save himself and his daughter. Divya begins to loathe her father. Meanwhile, it turns out that the painting gifted to Krishnamurthy had a camera in it and that Abhiram too was aware of Krishnamurthy's plans. He finds out Krishnamurthy's bank number and accesses the account, transferring the 35,000 crores to his family account. It is also revealed that the gas land Krishnamurthy grabbed was no real gas land and the gas there was given by tunnels planted by Abhiram's KMC company i.e. Krishnamurthyni Mosam Chese company ('Cheating Krishnamurthy company'). Kapil Sinha is revealed to be Satpal Singh, Subramanyam's friend. Krishnamurthy becomes of the same condition as Ramesh Chandra Prasad and absconds and changes his identity to Subramanyam. Divya and her mother moves in with Abhiram's family but sadly Ramesh Chandra succumbs to his disease. Abhiram still does not cry as he thinks his father will go the day he cries.

Paayum Puli.The story is set in the backdrop of Madurai where a gang is involved in kidnapping top businessmen in the city and demand a sum of Rs. 2 crores for their release and failing to do so will result in their death. The dead bodies are placed beneath a bridge. Bhavani (Bangalore Swamy) and Lal (Murali Tiwari) are the main culprits behind the kidnaps and Albert (Harish Uthaman), a police inspector cracks the case and unearths the criminals involved in kidnap, but gets killed by Bhavani. Jayaseelan (Vishal) is the new ACP who gets deputed in his hometown Madurai. Murugesan (Soori) is the head constable and is a close friend of Jayaseelan. Jayaseelan wants to have a meeting with Bhavani and his gang to finalize his commission so that he will never interfere in their illegal activities. But actually,Paayum Puli. Jayaseelan is in undercover operation to encounter Bhavani and his gang. Jayaseelan lives in a joint family with his parents and elder brother Selvaraj aka Selvam (Samuthirakani). Meanwhile, Jayaseelan meets Sowmya (Kajal Aggarwal) and falls in love with her. Jayaseelan encounters two of Bhavani’s men. Now Bhavani is frightened knowing that someone has set an eye on him and he will be the next target. Jayaseelan tracks down Bhavani also and kills him. Just before dying, Bhavani challenges Jayaseelan that kidnapping incidents will continue after his death which leaves Jayaseelan puzzled. It is Jayaseelan’s elder brother Selvam who is actually the masterbrain behind all the kidnaps. He is the close friend of Lal, who is an advocate and both are involved in planning the kidnap while Bhavani is involved only to execute the plan. A small flashback is shown about Jayaseelan’s family. Jayaseelan’s grandfather Ramasamy is a freedom fighter and is widely respected by the local people. He also served as a minister and is known for his genuineness and loyalty. But his son, who is Jayaseelan’s father, is not interested in politics and he prefers to stay away from politics following his father’s death. Meanwhile, Paayum Puli.Singarasu (RK), a local politician decides to bank on Ramasamy’s political support for his victory. Singarasu convinces Selvam to support his party for which Selvam agrees. Singarasu wins the election and becomes MLA. Selvam is encouraged by a few party men to contest for MLA seat during the next election. But Singarasu is the man behind the plan and he wants to defeat Selvam to show his power. Selvam trusts a few friends but later understands that it was Singarasu's plan. Selvam loses the election as Singarasu provided money to vote for him to the public. This made Selvam furious and he decides to earn more money and use it for election purposes. He makes his close friend Lal to earn the confidence of Singarasu and collects all the information about his illegal business activities. Also Selvam and Lal are involved in kidnapping rich businessmen in the city demanding money. Coming to the present, Selvam knows that Jayaseelan is handling the kidnap case and closely monitors his moves. Lakshmi Narayanan (Jayaprakash), father of Sowmya is kidnapped by Selvam and his men demanding money. Lakshmi Narayanan hands over the money to Selvam who appears with a mask in front of him while collecting the money. Paayum Puli.Next day, a meeting is arranged between Jayaseelan and Sowmya’s family members to discuss their marriage proposal. At that time, Lakshmi Narayanan observes the mannerisms of Selvam and doubts that he could be the one who kidnapped him the day before. Selvam also understands that Lakshmi Narayanan has got a doubt on him and decides to kill him before he could contact Jayaseelan. Lakshmi Narayanan requests Jayaseelan to meet him immediately but Lakshmi Narayanan is killed by Selvam before that. Jayaseelan formulates a plan to find the culprit. He decides to tap the mobile phones of all the leading businessmen in Madurai, so that he can get to know if the kidnapper calls any of them demanding money. A special team is set up who are involved in phone tapping. A businessman gets a call demanding money and Jayaseelan decides the follow the person without anyone’s knowledge. While the businessman is about to hand over the money to Selvam and Lal, Jayaseelan interferes. Selvam and Lal escape from the spot and is chased by Jayaseelan. Lal is shot by Jayaseelan and gets arrested. But Selvam shoots himself in hand and stages a scene that someone has shot him and ran away. Jayaseelan believes the show staged by Selvam and admits him in the hospital. Meanwhile, Lal is killed by a hitman employed by Selvam. Selvam’s father overhears his conversation and understands that Selvam is the man behind all crimes. But Selvam decides to kill his own father also. In the meantime, Jayaseelan conducts a secret investigation against his brother Selvam and finds the truth. He has got enough evidence that Selvam shot himself based on the number of gun shots heard and also understands that his brother staged a show that he was shot by the culprit who ran away. Jayaseelan goes to Selvam’s place and finds a secret room behind where his father is tied to a chair. Jayaseelan saves his father and brings back home. Now Selvam is shocked to know that all his illegal activities are exposed to his family members. He requests them not to take any action as he will become the next minister post election. Suddenly Selvam rushes to kill Jayaseelan and his father. Jayaseelan retaliates and hits Selvam. Finally their father asks Jayaseelan to kill Selvam saying that it will be a big embarrassment for their family especially their grandfather Ramasamy’s image in the society if the truth comes out to public. Jayaseelan agrees and kills his brother Selvam and puts the dead body beneath the bridge where usually the kidnappers place the dead bodies of rich businessmen staging a scene that Selvam is also killed by the kidnappers demanding money. In the meantime, Jayaseelan encounters Selvam’s hitmen involved in crimes with him as the culprits behind the kidnaps and closes the case.
