Adaa (Minissha Lamba) is a Kashmiri woman torn between her army officer lover Aman (Jimmy Shergill) and her jihadi insurgent brother Shakeel (Yashpal Sharma). Trouble ensues when Aman's superiors come to know of his involvement with the sister of a terrorist and

implicate him as an accomplice. Thus, Adaa begins a valiant attempt to save Aman from the perils of a court-martial and Shakeel is torn between his family's happiness and safety and his own jehadi cause.Kashmir is in turmoil because of terrorists trying to take over the land and the Indian army trying to find and eliminate them. Army commander Aman meets Adaa when posted to Kashmir to fight the insurgents. Adaa lives with her father, grandmother and a mute adopted sister. Adaa's brother Shakeel has joined hands with the terrorists to gain a free Kashmir. Circumstances soon lead to Aman and Adaa falling in love. Aman does not let the army know about his new relationship. He is given the task of finding and eliminating terrorists; he captures their leader, who happens to be Shakeel's mentor. Adaa's family learns about her affair with Aman. Her grandmother approves of the relationship, but her father requests Aman to stay away from them, as their love will not be approved in that place. A disappointed Aman is then given another mission. Acting on a tip off, he and his men go to raid a terrorist hideout but are attacked by the terrorists. Many insurgents are killed, and Aman and four comrades are taken captive by Shakeel. They demand the release of their leader from the government in exchange for the soldiers. But Adaa finds her brother's hideout, goes there, and pleads with him not to harm Aman. Using the opportunity, Aman breaks free and escapes with Adaa, just as the army besieges the place and rescues the captured army men. Now Aman and Adaa's affair becomes known to the army. Suspicion falls on Aman that he is in-hand with the terrorists, as he is not at their hideout, and he has run off with Adaa. As soon as he arrives in the city, he is arrested and court marshaled. Adaa does all she can to help Aman. She goes to the chief minister, who agrees to help her but on the condition that she deny any relationship with Aman in public, as it can affect the reputation of the army. Adaa does not agree to that. Instead, on the advice of her mute sister, writes a letter to the prime minister, telling him her story and seeking help for Aman. As luck would have it, she is called by a TV channel for a live interview and to tell her story to the world. This news spreads, and the terrorists are irked. They advise Shakeel to put an end to it all: He takes over a mosque, holding people hostage in exchange for their leader and Adaa's silence. They also bomb Adaa's house (at their leader's orders), injuring her grandmother gravely. Adaa decides to broadcast live, no matter what. Shakeel demands from the government that he negotiate with the man who had relationship with his sister: Aman. In the climax, Aman enters the mosque alone and faces Shakeel. Shakeel beats him black and blue, then sees that his father is one of the hostages in the mosque. At the same time, Adaa tells her story live on TV. Everyone listens to the heart-touching tale of the two lovers and a plea for Shakeel to return. Aman tells Shakeel that the terrorist leader had bombed Shakeel's house and his grandmother is in hospital. The terrorists then decide to leave, holding a man and few hostages as guard. As soon as they step out, pre-planned by Aman who is wearing a bulletproof jacket, a sniper commando shoots him. He falls from the impact, thus giving the sniper chance to aim at other terrorists. The army invades and forces the other terrorists to surrender. In the end, Adaa arrives and they leave the scene together.

Sonia (Minissha Lamba) lives with her mother, Mallika (Vidya Malvade) and grandmother (Reema Lagoo); her parents had divorced when she was ten. A fortnight before her eighteenth birthday, she picks an argument with her mother about her coming home late after the Christmas Party. Her mother tells her to stay within limits and arrive home in time. She is reluctant to abide by the rule and after much negotiation demands that she would listen to everything if she gets to meet her father. Then she leaves home and goes swimming in the sea to vent out. Far into the sea, she vanishes underwater. She wakes up in the evening in a cottage which has no exit. At first she doesn't believe that she has been kidnapped and thinks that her friends are playing a prank on her. The abductor Kabir (Imran Khan) tells her how she came there. When she went swimming in the open sea, he pulled her below the water surface and

knocked her unconscious using a bottled chloroform. Meanwhile, everyone is worried at her home. Next morning, her mother receives a call from Kabir wherein he says that he is interested in speaking to Sonia's father, Vikrant Raina (Sanjay Dutt), a New York based Indian business tycoon, with whom he has an old score to settle. Vikrant Raina is introduced as a cruel and heartless but a very wealthy man, worth USD 51.7 billion. He is in India because he believes someone has emptied a large share of his money. Mallika meets him and tells him that Sonia has been kidnapped and that the kidnapper wants to speak only to him. Its around 3 p.m. when the kidnapper calls again. Vikrant and Sonia speak to each other for the first time in eight years. Kabir tells Vikrant that the money is safe in his account. Vikrant wants to know the reason behind the kidnapping. Kabir tells him that he has to do a few things as ransom to release his daughter. The very first of them is saying "Sorry" to Sister Margaret whom he would find on a train from Panvel at 4 p.m. Vikrant says its crazy to reach there in half an hour. But Kabir tells him that she has a clue of how the they can meet. Vikrant is determined to reach the place by 4 and he has to overcome unwarranted circumstances. Sister Margaret hands over a piece of paper which has a poetry written on it. Vikrant knows there is something in it so he involves a detective Irfan (Rahul Dev) who has solved many corporate kidnapping cases successfully in the past. But Kabir is interested in playing a deadly game with Vikrant. He is asked to perform daring tasks (like robbery from a business rival's house) which would reward him with a clue to identify the kidnapper and the motive of kidnapping. The same time Kabir start to lose control with Sonia but still he stays away from her. On the other hand its hard to believe for Sonia that she has been kidnapped. Initially Kabir is good with her but when she tries to stab Kabir by the name of flirting and hurt his leg and he becomes furious so he tries to misbehave her but he understands that this is not his motivation and leaves her but he ties her up. Once Sonia realizes that Kabir is probably frustrated but not a bad human being she gets a little comfortable with him. She subsequently realizes that she is being housed in a bungalow which was once owned by her father. On inquiring further Kabir reveals that several years earlier Vikrant had falsely accused Kabir of kidnapping Sonia. Consequently, Kabir spent his formative years in jail where he underwent undue mental and physical torture. Kabir was simply out to get even with Sonia's father (Vikrant) by kidnapping her for real. Meanwhile, based on the clues he already has, Vikrant figures out that Kabir is his daughter's kidnapper. Subsequently unable to reach Vikrant over the phone Kabir decides to pay him a visit. As planned, Vikrant and Irfan intercept the kidnapper and a chase ensues. Eventually, Kabir leads Vikrant to Sonia. After meeting his daughter briefly, Vikrant is told to dismiss Irfan from the case and he hands over the task to free a prisoner from jail. Vikrant follows the command but during the assignment however, Irfan intervenes and injures Kabir. Injured Kabir is nursed by Sonia when he reaches the bungalow. Despite having an opportunity, she does not escape captivity, due to her experiencing Stockholm syndrome. Based on the clue Vikrant receives after freeing the prisoner from jail, he figures out the location of his captive daughter. On reaching his old bungalow he does not find his daughter or the kidnapper but instead discovers the next clue that requires Vikrant to murder someone at a New Year's eve party. After much deliberation Vikrant commits the murder and realizes that he murdered the kidnapper, Kabir. While Vikrant is guilty and pensive due to the turn of events, Kabir emerges alive. Kabir makes him realize that at that point Vikrant was criminal himself even though he committed the crimes to rescue his daughter. Kabir then asks Vikrant to reflect on the past and decide for himself if Kabir was criminal who deserved the jail time or a teenager who was unduly penalized for an innocent mistake. After, Vikrant apologizes to Kabir, Kabir disappears and his jacket leads Vikrant to the final clue which leads him to his daughter. In the final scene, the Raina family is reunited and enjoying at a gathering. At the gathering, Kabir pays a surprise visit to Sonia and apologizes for the trouble he made her go through. At the end it seems that both Kabir and Sonia wish each other good luck and bid each other good-bye.

Paresh Rawal and Sunil Grover in lead roles amongst others. It was released on 22 February 2013.Upon release, the film received mixed reviews, with a poor response at the box office. Zila Ghaziabad was described by critics as "a disaster", and ended up becoming one of the biggest flops of the year.

The movie is based on the true story of the gang war that lasted between two groups in the 80s and 90s in Ghaziabad, India. In the village of Ghaziabad, jagmal Singh Choudhary (Paresh Rawal) is a corrupt chairman, and has connections with the gangster Fauji (Arshad Warsi), who is willing to do anything to make a quick buck. When jagmal refuses to pay up to 2 million for Fauji's sisters wedding, Fauji breaks their ties and leaves him. At the same time, Brahampal befriends a polite teacher named Satbir (Vivek Oberoi) who also happens to be in a relationship with jagmal's daughter Sanika (Charmy Kaur). Thinking that jagmal has replaced him with Satbir, Fauji becomes furious and joins forces with Rashid (Ravi Kishan), a politician and Brahampal's enemy. Rashid deliberately turns Fauji against Satbir, making him think that he wants him dead. When Fauji tries to attack Satbir, an elderly village spokesman is shot, leading Satbir to fight back against him. But before Satbir is able to do anything about it, Satbir's older brother Karamvir (Chandrachur Singh) is kidnapped, and soon killed by Fauji. Seeking revenge, Satbir turns to the crime world to finish off his brother's murderer. With riots taking place all over, the police department shifts a crazy, tough, feared and solid officer, Thakur Pritam Singh (Sanjay Dutt) to enter the city bring a stop to this gang-war. However, Pritam Singh ends up making it all worse. Pritam Singh initially visits Fauji and Rashid and later on, invites Satbir to the Police Station. Having gauged their attitudes, Pritam Singh decides to side with Satbir in the war against Fauji and Rashid. With elections approaching, both parties eventually decide to contest with Rashid and Satbir's brother contesting. Rashid wins the election seeing which Fauji goes on a killing spree beginning his attack starting from Satbir's house and accidentally ends up killing Satbir's now wife Sanika. Enraged at this act of Fauji, Satbir's brother kidnaps his girlfriend – an act that is looked down upon by Satbir. Before she could be returned safely, Fauji invades the place and kills Satbir's brother prompting a furious Satbir to go on a revenge spree. In the meanwhile, a tape is discovered which not only reveals that Rashid and Faqeera have secretly made a deal with Pritam Singh to murder Fauji, thereby betraying him, but also shows Faqeera confessing to having ordered the attack on Fauji's house at the start of the movie which is what triggered the whole gang-war in the first place. Furious at this betrayal, Fauji kills Faqeera and then heads out to kill Rashid. Pritam Singh also joins in, apparently fulfilling his promise to kill Fauji for Rashid but ends up killing Rashid instead. This results in an action-packed finale that sees Satbir killing Fauji and being arrested by Pritam Singh. His fate then is left unknown.
